Sock Burning – The Changing of the Seasons
Join us for a tradition started years ago in Annapolis when sailors would burn their socks, shuck oysters, enjoy musical entertainment with beer toasts, and recite sea shanteys after a long winter at sea.
At the Club, new members are introduced, and can participate in a Scavenger Hunt with prizes!
At sundown, we strike the colors in our traditional way, and the Trap Committee turns the waterfront over to the sailors.
Bring a pair of your old winter socks to throw into the fire pit.
Enjoy roasted oysters, buffet dinner and camaraderie of your fellow members.
Come with stories of the winter and share your summer plans for warmer months ahead.
